Fall into the waves with me before we dance among the bowed heads of the pink flowers. Did you see the deer? The starfish? The seagull? What did they have to say to you? I thought I heard them giggling. Perhaps they know more than I do about what’s to come.
“I spent uncounted hours sitting at the bow looking at the water and the sky, studying each wave, different from the last, seeing how it caught the light, the air, the wind; watching patterns, the sweep of it all, and letting it take me. The sea.”
—Gary Paulsen

- The last photo is of my brother’s dog Henry. He’s such a good boy! All photos were taken with an Olympus OM-D and edited with ON1 Photo RAW.
#3 the deer is sticking its tongue out!😍

I didn’t notice the little tongue until I was editing the photos. Such a nice surprise!

Lovely photos all, Bridgette! Your dog is sooo cute! I hope you guys have been well and not affected by the smoke fog like here in Las Vegas, it’s terrible!

I’m so glad you like these photos, John. No smoke here yet. It’s been a surprisingly smoke-free summer here, but the last few years have been terrible. I hope it clears for you soon.

Lucky you! Even the weather channel on TV is mentioning the smoke during the weekly forecast.
It stinks here and the sky isn’t very blue if at all blue. Children are being kept indoors at school for recess because of the terrible air quality.
Gosh darn Californians! Just kidding, Bridgette. I feel sad for the property loss for those living there, it’s so sad! 😭

It’s so sad indeed! A few summers ago it was like that here. It felt very post-apocalyptic. Take care of yourself and stay indoors as much as possible until the air quality improves.

Thanks so much, Bridgette, I am indeed staying indoors, taking a long ride on my new e-Bike is questionable considering the rotten air. Best think twice about this and the weather is just now beginning to cool from the summer heat too. 😭

Interesting quote written by Gary Paulsen, -“I spent uncounted hours sitting at the bow looking at the water and the sky, studying each wave, different from the last, seeing how it caught the light, the air, the wind; watching patterns, the sweep of it all, and letting it take me. The sea.”!
So pretty your’s brother dog 🐕!

Absolutely gorgeous photos and especially love the cheeky deer, sleepy and sweet dog and the star fish…I agree they do seem filled with laughter 😃

I’m glad you see the laughter too. It’s so easily to get sad or despondent about the state of the world, but nature has a way of healing us.

Beautiful. #8 speaks to me. The rocky coves are not unlike those around my home island of Jersey (C.I.)

2’s sunset snapshot has lovely layered colours as it kisses the horizon & such a great crisp contrast in 10 between the grey rocks and green seaweed! 🙂

And gotta appreciate the cute pupper.
And scrolling through the comments to see who else commented on the deep blep… oh, haha, there’s me! At least I know I got caught back up on your posts! I may be a sporadic reader, but I really do love your blog, Bridgette.

You made me laugh! So glad you could appreciate that silly deer more than once 🙂 I’m a sporadic reader too and always appreciate your creative stories, especially those with gnomes. I have a sneaking suspicion we’d get along quite well if we found ourselves in a forest together. Thanks for brightening my day!
