“There is no exquisite beauty… without some strangeness in the proportion.” -Edgar Allan Poe
While out on a walk this week I stumbled across a field full of holes. This little guy poked out and I was able to snap a quick picture before he disappeared back into the ground. He’s got a torn ear, but I think it makes him even more interesting. Isn’t it true our flaws are what make us uniquely beautiful?
My birthday lies at the end of this week, as does a trip to the ocean, so I’m feeling a lot more chipper. We had some rain and the sky has been fantastically beautiful with lots of fat, fluffy clouds. I hope you enjoy my offering of photos and you have a wonderful week.
If you’re unfamiliar with the 100 Day Project, the concept is simple. You choose any creative project you like and do it every day for 100 days, sharing your process on social media using the hashtag #The100DayProject. This year the dates are Feb. 13-May 24.

Here are two bonus photos from my iPhone 13.

Happy Birthday, Bridgette! Nice photos, you have a very good eye for photography! ❤️

Thank you! I took the moon shot with my cellphone. Just point and click-but that sky was gorgeous and my “real” camera wasn’t with me.

I am currently working on a short story to submit into a contest. As I am a new writer, and this is my passion, there are those of us who would love advice you have on writing short stories. I like you have taken other paths and upon completion of those other works have returned yet again to pursue my love of story telling in the hopes of publishing a book. I have ready pieces of your work and find your writing and word usage beautiful. Any advice for those of us just beginning our journey would love some insight from you about this journey and the best way to approach it.

Hi! I am new too, and simply finding my way by writing one word at a time. I journal every single day and I’ve grown so much since starting this short story challenge in January.
My advice, for what it’s worth as an unpublished writer who is also finding her way back to storytelling, is to write all the time. If you are feeling uninspired or unconfident-write anyway. Read as much as you can too. Just keep going. Words on the page.
Happy writing!

These are sure some of the best photos I’m viewing as the week kicks off. That little dude from the hole’s looking weary. Hope he isn’t starving much in that almost empty field. And yes, you’re right about our flaws making us unique. Oh, I love that gorgeous flower. Flowers make me smile. And that baby too. I simply broke into another smile when I saw the baby’s enchanting smile. That picture of the moon reminds of the best moments we used to spend with my mum in front of our house after supper. Quite adorable pics indeed! Keep it up. And I’m wishing you a joyous birthday, dear. May you have a blast on your day. ❤❤

I’ll be sure to take some photos of flowers on my birthday! They bring me joy too ❤️

Lovely pictures, as always. Perhaps I should mimic your 100 day challenge when my camera arrives, see if I can make a passable photographer out of myself.
Have a great birthday week.
