Last week I took a much-anticipated trip to visit my mother, connect with a dear poetry friend, and show the city of Seattle to my daughter. It was a feast for the photographic eye. Please join me for a series of posts (6 total) exploring the Pacific Northwest and let me know if you have a favorite photo.
“Believe in a love that is being stored up for you like an inheritance, and have faith that in this love there is a strength and a blessing so large that you can travel as far as you wish without having to step outside it.”
—Rainer Maria Rilke

I grew up in Washington state, in Snohomish. I graduated from the UW in Seattle. Your photos are gorgeous and bring back memories.

Isn’t the bridge lovely? Crossing it takes you from Oregon to Washington and each time I drive over it I’m in awe all over again. Plus, one of my favorite towns sits on the Oregon side, Astoria. Seriously, it’s so cute!

Lovely, can’t get passed #5, marching into the impenetrable jungle.

It was a really beautiful hike. A bit too many mosquitos for my liking, but the greens really pop because of all the moisture.

I’ll add that to my list next time we head that way. My mom lives in Chinook now so we plan on a yearly visit and I’d love to do a lot more sightseeing.
