I’ve been doing a lot of portrait photography lately, and neglecting my nature shots. I tried to remedy that by capturing the moon a few weeks ago, but I couldn’t find it before it got super dark outside. Here’s my best attempt, including two shots I took while doing an adorable family shoot at the river.
Also, thank you to those reading my daily poems. It’s a project I’ve been wanting to do for a while, but it’s honestly feeling like a lot. I appreciate everyone rooting me on and supporting me.

Thanks, John. I really wanted to photograph the moon over that bridge, but alas, it got super dark and the moon refused to rise high enough for me to see it. I ended up driving a bit and finally seeing it! I pulled over and took those in a parking lot.

A beautiful collection! Your portraits may be wonderful, but these nature shots remind us that beauty is everywhere for those who pause to notice it.

Aww! I needed that encouragement today. It feels sometimes like “why am I working so hard?” I know creating is good for my soul and I love when something I share resonates, but daily motivation can be hard to find at times. Thank you for seeing me and cheering me on.

Poetry can best you. I have this feeling that you won’t allow it to, though.
I hope you stick with it. I love how your mind works… you don’t just write poetry, you pour stories out onto the screen that are massive and artful, yet bite-sized chunks of knowledge and reflections, too.

You made my day with this thoughtful comment. I’ve always waited for poetry to just flow, usually after a highly emotionally charged moment. I knew writing it daily would force me to see it differently. Twelve days feels like 100 already…I’m often not posting until right at midnight. Hoping I can find a way to the words sooner. I’m not giving up, and words are the exact encouragement I need right now.

Thanks! I’ve been STRUGGLING to find the moon lately as it rises so late and is hidden for so long by buildings and such. These were taken after I left the river, which is where I thought I’d get good moon shots, but it was late and no moon! I finally saw it and pulled over and took these in a parking lot 😭

These moon photographs are really great. There’s something fascinating about looking at the moon. My amateur attempts have never been good. Is it best to take shots of the moon when there’s still some light?

I’ve learned it’s important to be shooting with spot metering-took me forever to figure that out. I prefer to shoot the moon at sunrise or sunset at the colors of the sky add to the overall photos and are just more interesting, to me. Just a personal preference. I love the moon too!

Love the header pic with the light from the buildings counterpointing the moon. And #8 is pleasing and (to me anyway) an intriguing puzzle to leave with the observer.
