Photography: Flowers

“A garden to walk in and immensity to dream in–what more could he ask? A few flowers at his feet and above him the stars.”—Victor Hugo

Happy Saturday! Here are some shots I took earlier this week at William Land Park. I went to photograph the lotus flowers, but they weren’t blooming due to overcast and rain. I shifted my focus to other plants and visited the Sacramento Zoo. I’ll post some animal photos later.

It was nice spending some time alone and remembering I actually like my own company. Let me know if you have a favorite photo and have a wonderful weekend.

  1. Well Bridgette all fine photographs, focus perfect to make the flowers center stage (me thinks I’m seeing skill you have been learning, here well expressed). Most of anything else is more a matter of what flowers do I like more (beside the moment’s point). But from a poetic view, the header image is the most engaging (don’t know if the “angle” was the phototropic plant or your photographic choice, but either way… ). We always “think” plants grow UP to the sun, so here, angled to the side, my eye becomes more curious finding a new direction to gaze, unexpectedly. Another way to understand – the image has motion inside it (while standing still). Nice job.

    • Thank you for such a thoughtful and kind comment. I totally agree. The header has movement and it was my favorite too. I find a different angle really does add interest.
