“A garden to walk in and immensity to dream in–what more could he ask? A few flowers at his feet and above him the stars.”—Victor Hugo
Happy Saturday! Here are some shots I took earlier this week at William Land Park. I went to photograph the lotus flowers, but they weren’t blooming due to overcast and rain. I shifted my focus to other plants and visited the Sacramento Zoo. I’ll post some animal photos later.
It was nice spending some time alone and remembering I actually like my own company. Let me know if you have a favorite photo and have a wonderful weekend.

Those flowers are beautiful. I love all the photos.

All are fantastic, I am most drawn to numbers 6 and 10. I get to live vicariously through your photos, so thanks for bringing nature to me.

You are so welcome! I appreciate you always letting me know which photos work for you. It’s funny, those two are the shots I was most insecure about. Funny, huh?

IDK why. You take great pictures and those are stunning. 🙂

All the photos are beautiful in their own way, Bridgette! Send some of your rain up to Las Vegas, please. 😊😎

It’s pretty rare for Sacramento to have his cool weather in June. I’m just bracing myself for the heat that will be coming soon.

I kept liking each one, 1,2,3, and realized they were all great. I like the spider between the dandelion

Thank you so much! I’m pretty happy with how they turned out and maybe, just maybe, seeing some growth in my photos.

I bet they’d all look good in bw too.

The photos are all so beautiful that it’s hard to choose just one. Photos #4 & #9 share the additional charm of the relationship between flowers and insects 🙂

Thanks! Yes, it was fun to find those insects in amongst the flowers.

Well Bridgette all fine photographs, focus perfect to make the flowers center stage (me thinks I’m seeing skill you have been learning, here well expressed). Most of anything else is more a matter of what flowers do I like more (beside the moment’s point). But from a poetic view, the header image is the most engaging (don’t know if the “angle” was the phototropic plant or your photographic choice, but either way… ). We always “think” plants grow UP to the sun, so here, angled to the side, my eye becomes more curious finding a new direction to gaze, unexpectedly. Another way to understand – the image has motion inside it (while standing still). Nice job.

Thank you for such a thoughtful and kind comment. I totally agree. The header has movement and it was my favorite too. I find a different angle really does add interest.

1 and 2 had great contrasts with the background & love the suspended spider between the daisies in 9. Great pictures! 😀

That’s so kind! Thank you. Yes, I think I might want to do photography by myself more often. It really allowed me more freedom to wander and linger as long as I wanted.
