Bridgette. Lay my words upon wooden tables a poem that wants to tell all but then silence my words as if the writing wants you to read between the lines, once again you open our minds with words of wisdom letting us know that silence can all express our feelings well done ❤️😁👍
Thank you so very much for this thoughtful comment. I feel silenced by others when I try to explain myself and this poem was me trying to explore that feeling. Glad it came across to you.
Oh this is the poet in you shining forth. But that’s too pretty a way to say what your poem offers us. There is also a true rawness that lives here too, less disciplined perhaps, but more direct to our hearts by virtue of it honesty. That IS what the world is worth. That’s what can change the course of a life. And THAT is beautiful. Well done Bridgette.
When we say enough, no matter what, what remains is the peace that was always there first. Thank you for allowing us to see.
Thank you Neil for such a kind and thoughtful comment. I’ve been trying to ask myself the two questions you posed about poetry: is it honest? Is it true? Those are the ways I’m measuring my poetry now and I’m glad it feels I’ve perhaps hit the mark here. Turning a painful situation into poetry is how I want to be in the world.
I felt the beat of emotions in this – lovely

I really like what you did here with this phrasing:
“sunburst me
into silence”
This is superb writing, Bridgette!

Thank you. Still trying to understand how to have difficult conversations. Not sure I’m getting any better at it.

Not sure doing them well is possible, but having the bravery to attempt them is notable. xo
