poetry: blend

don’t look down. see
bending. almost bright
sunlit joy. trampled upon
still alive. resilient petals
living foxtail sharp. step
around. i’m happy here.

  1. Nice work. Can’t say how much I appreciate the work you do to write and grow. I love the flow of energy inside this poem, how it moves. I probably wouldn’t be quite so nice as you, but that’s you, that’s me. Thank you for making me look and think. (me more later)

    • You are always so thoughtful, Neil. Thank you for encouraging me and seeing how hard I’m working to get better. I think I’m close to finding my voice…or maybe I’ve always had it and I’m working on recognizing when it comes.

  2. Bridgette The photo and this poem compliment each other, the undergrowth has a voice, don’t look down l’m always here. And like flowers and petals we are resilient, as people no matter how many times life walks over us we bonce back. We go to our happy place.thanks for sharing regards to all the family 😁

    • This is exactly what I was trying to say with this poem. I’ve had a lot of trampling lately and I need to remind myself that I’m far more resilient than I give myself credit for. There is happiness in all parts of the journey if you just look at it a bit differently. Thank you for such thoughtful comments. I always look forward to hearing from you!
