Today the heat subsided and the clouds arrived. I went in search of you. I found sunflowers, pumpkins, cornfields, and a bridge. You peeked out for a minute from the clouds but then ran from me. That’s okay. I don’t need to see you to love you.
Because I’m still in love with you
I wanna see you dance again
Because I’m still in love with you
On this harvest moon
—Neil Young

I visited Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm with visions of taking a photo of the full moon over a cornfield, but the clouds didn’t cooperate. Instead, I had a lovely evening with my mom. I hope you enjoy these images and let me know if you have a favorite. As always, all photos were taken by me with an Olympus OM-D and edited with ON1 Photo RAW.

Thank you so much, John. It was a beautiful day. I’ve not had time to use my camera since, but I’m itching to get back out there. Maybe I can find something this weekend. Time to explore!

Thank you. I had an image I wanted in my mind and the clouds made it impossible, but maybe these are even better than what I wanted. Life is like that, huh?

Lovely photos and reflection on autumns treasures Bridgette. We had a wonderful harvest moon last night but my cellphone did a poor job of capturing it.

Thank you and yes it’s so hard to get photos of the moon with your cellphone. I saw so many beautiful Harvest moon photos and was sad the clouds covered ours, but we work with what we are given, right?

#18 is great. However I’m always struck by the determination of the very last sunflower to die, still trying to follow the sun, so #10 as well.

Thanks, Roy. Me too. There’s something magical about a field of sunflowers buzzing with bees, the whole flowers, the half-opened, and those dying. All of it is beautiful.

That makes me so happy! I’ve had the best time learning to appreciate the full moon this year. It might have to continue into next year.
