It can be hard right now to think about light streaming through ribbons, flowers, and youthful hearts, but the world still contains all the beautiful things it always has. Let me take you away from the news for a moment as we dance around the May pole and celebrate the spirit of spring. Let me know if you have a favorite photo and have a wonderful day.
“It is spring again. The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.”
—Rainer Maria Rilke

They are out almost every day but our frame of mind or attention span pulls us away from slowing down and taking life in. I’m guilty.

oh wow, photo #14 was my fav, but the photos went so well for a flowing experience and thanks for sharing this beauty – in blooms, ribbons, smiles, etc

I’m so glad you found this series of photos enjoyable. #14 might be my favorite, too. It really shows off the beauty of that flower arrangement at the top of the pole.

another note here, I have sometimes numbered my photos and your post made me realize how helpful it can be at times – esp if more than a few photos

Is it the Midsommar festival by any chance?

Thank you, Narisa. It’s the May Day celebration at the Waldorf school my children attended from kindergarten through 8th grade. We still return each year to see our friends and to watch the current 8th grade class dance. It’s a celebration of Spring and a culmination of the spirit of the school, a connection to beauty and nature.

Thanks! I love #3 too, the beautiful flower crowns are my favorite part of the festival. I always make one and wear it too, although I failed to take my own picture this year.

Mine, too! It’s really fun to make them and wear them for the event. I learned, the awful sneezy/rash way, I’m allergic to vetch and make my base now at home from ivy in my yard. I’m glad you liked these photos.

My goddaughter Lorelai. Isn’t she just the cutest? I took the absolute BEST photos of her for Mother’s Day in a vintage outfit I found at the thrift store. I’ll send you my favorite on IG.

I’ve always loved may day but they don’t really celebrate it by me! In fact I haven’t seen it celebrated anywhere in a really long time. That’s are beautiful

It’s not really celebrated much of anywhere anymore, except perhaps Waldorf schools, which is where this was. It’s really my favorite moment of Spring, and a wonderful excuse to wear a flower crown and dance. Glad you liked these photos.
