Photography: May Day

It can be hard right now to think about light streaming through ribbons, flowers, and youthful hearts, but the world still contains all the beautiful things it always has. Let me take you away from the news for a moment as we dance around the May pole and celebrate the spirit of spring. Let me know if you have a favorite photo and have a wonderful day.

“It is spring again. The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.”
—Rainer Maria Rilke

  1. Wonderful all photography. There’s celebration photography. Where’s & why that flowers & ribbons, and youthful hearts. Really love the beauty of May Day.

    • Thank you, Narisa. It’s the May Day celebration at the Waldorf school my children attended from kindergarten through 8th grade. We still return each year to see our friends and to watch the current 8th grade class dance. It’s a celebration of Spring and a culmination of the spirit of the school, a connection to beauty and nature.

    • Thanks! I love #3 too, the beautiful flower crowns are my favorite part of the festival. I always make one and wear it too, although I failed to take my own picture this year.

    • My goddaughter Lorelai. Isn’t she just the cutest? I took the absolute BEST photos of her for Mother’s Day in a vintage outfit I found at the thrift store. I’ll send you my favorite on IG.
