Lately, I’ve been inspired by weirdness of ordinary things. For the last few weeks I’ve kept my camera in the car and taken shots around the area. These are the result of trying to edit them cohesive and finding a tone which I thought fit them all. Let me know what you think and if you have a favorite image.
Bonus points if you can name any of these locations.
Have a great week!

- These were taken with my Olympus E-M1 MarkII, using a 75-300mm lens and edited with Lightroom Classic.
What eclectic collection Bridgette – as you say, things that you regularly walk by without focusing on them. Love the world-weariness of the header photo and I wonder what is behind that padlock in #8. Sad how Woody just got given away, the fate of all childhood toys. ‘The House’ belongs to Dorothea Puente the mass murderer – have you been in? Are there ghosts?

Good eye! That is the Dorothea Puente house. They don’t let people inside, at least that I know of, but it’s a pretty strange place. It’s across the street from where my daughter has therapy and so I see it every week.
I think I should do more everyday shoots. It was fun to just take pictures of things that caught my eye. Glad you liked this collection.

You have so many interesting images. I enjoyed all of them. I don’t know where the location is of any of them.

Thank you! The second half of these photos were taken at a big flea market we have in town. It’s got all kinds of weird stuff and was fun to take my along for the ride. Will need to do more walks like that in the future.

Super happy you liked these! Such a great reminder to keep my camera around all the time for whatever I might see. The world is really remarkable and I love capturing a bit of it.

I have no idea where they were taken but you have a wonderful selection here, Bridgette!

Thanks, John! Most of these are taken at various spots near Sacramento, but the last half are at a big flea market near me. It’s one of my favorite places to go and I’ll need to take my camera with me more often.

As a photographer you should have your camera with you. 👍🏻 I’ve never been to that area of California, haven’t been down there for ten years now. Happy new week!

Like them all and enjoyed the mix or urban with the fuzzy bud and beautiful leaf. A fun selection.

Oh, stunning shots, Bridgette! What a cornucopia. Love how you zoom in on the details and imbue them with atmosphere.

As photos, some grab more than others, but what I like is how they comment on your frame of mind (frame of eye?) to have taken them just that way! The header shot is great. I like the ‘journalistic realism’ approach which many of the shots have. Because I always seem to do this, #’s 4, 6, 7, 10-12, 14-15, & 19 really caught me eye. I’m wondering what the eccentric cop (19) would be like if he were purposefully way off-center, perhaps even partially cut off by the border of the photo….
