The #100DayProject ended on June 2nd. It was a wild, exhausting, fulfilling, and beautiful experience. Here’s my final images and a brief recap.
First, the numbers: I delivered 20 full galleries to photography clients, each with an average of 100 photos. I don’t have a count on total number of photos taken (that number would be embarrassing), but I edited 3,384 photos. That’s a lot of practice!
My biggest take aways:
- Storytelling behind the lens is beautiful, and I love it more and more every day.
- I really need a camera with a bigger sensor so I can capture low light easier.
- Editing and color theory are so interesting, and I have a lot more to learn.
- Documentary-style photography is my whole heart.
- This can become a second career for me.
- I can push through even on hard days.
- Challenges work for me.
Not all of these are revelations, or even surprising, but they all give me information which can help shape my path forward. Let me know what you think of these images, if you have a favorite, and if you see improvement.
Thanks for following along!

- These were taken with my Olympus E-M1 MarkII, using various lenses and edited with Lightroom Classic.
What’s next for me?
I’ve got several more photo shoots lined up in the next few weeks, and then I’m taking a brief break to do a 100 day poetry project. My heart still wants to finish my book dedicated to Neil, and so, I’ll give myself that challenge. I’ll begin on July 1st and end on October 9th. My goal is to have the book published by Christmas. I hope you all will indulge me sharing lots of poems starting in July, with a smattering of photography as well.
Here’s hoping I can find balance and keep up my motivation!
Wow, you’ve been very busy, Bridgette! Isn’t the Bellagio fantastic? A wonderful set of photos, thanks for sharing!!

Vegas is a feast for the eyes! Thank you, John. Have you seen that crazy praying mantis on Fremont Street that shoots fire? I had a blast photographing it the other night.

You’re welcome Bridgette. 😊 I have decided to not visit the strip or Fremont Street. Honestly, I’m afraid to go there because of the horrible things I have seen happening on Instagram.
Stuff the MSM will never, ever show the public. I haven’t been to the strip since before the pandemic! I’ve seen it anyway so it no longer interests me… Just being honest.

Totally get that. There’s a lot of crazy people out there. We didn’t see too much going down, but we also didn’t go too late. Lots of police and fire trucks (which I thought was weird).

The police makes sense, maybe they are expecting a fire… 🤭 Day is certainly the best time to be there. I haven’t gone out after dark in years with the exception of driving to the airport to catch a very early flight to Michigan. Home is safe and comfy…

Your daughter’s hair is a story all by itself. It’s so fiery red and free-blowing. The photos are timeless. I particulary like the made-to-be-candid ones and the photo of the older man taking a picture of something with his phone. He seemed so happy. Great job, Bridgette!

Aww! I will absolutely tell her you said that about her beautiful hair. She’s getting ready to attend cosmetology school and I keep telling her that people will want to have her as their stylist because of that stunning hair! The candid ones are my favorites, and I think where I’m leading as a photographer. I like capturing moments like that. Thank you for cheering me on, friend, and always being so kind.

Well done Bridgette – love your drive and determination to succeed. I’m sure your efforts have brought about higher standards though I’m really no judge. I’ve picked out #27 as the World Cup (soccer) makes an appearance in a largely indifferent country 🙂
Look forward to reading a bit of your poetry – I’m presently trying to up my own game in this regard.

Thanks so much, Roy. For me, although others might not see my growth, I know how far I’ve come by how willing I am to stand in front of a person with a camera now and take their photo. I also am very comfortable with my camera, and understand how to fix for the current lighting situation.
I’m currently housesitting in Vegas and while here I’ve discovered a love of more grainy photos, a return to sort of photojournalist style I’ve always enjoyed. Now, to figure out how to do portraits in this manner will be my next challenge.
Thanks for being ready to read my poetry!
