poetry: star shadow

words don’t matter
you do
across a table
carrying our years
cups in hand
shadow pens
starry paper
ray dotted cheeks
called-out names like a song
jane says look up
we rewrite the room

  1. What a beautiful piece of minimalist poetry. In just a few carefully chosen lines, you’ve created an atmosphere of warmth, friendship, and shared history. I especially love the opening, “words don’t matter, you do.” It immediately shifts the focus from conversation to presence, reminding us that genuine connection often exists beyond language.
