poetry: begging blue

pretend with me
we’ve fallen under
where sharks cry
and birds laugh
i’m me
you are blue
nobody sees us
we hold hands
taste salt
breathe sea
sink through quiet
still the cold
break hips free
pretend with me

  1. I love how you’ve placed these three lines together; all sensory and inviting…

    “we hold hands
    taste salt
    breath sea”

Is the last line supposed to be “breathe sea?”

You are working wonders with words, Bridgette. It’s always such a pleasure to read you.

    • Aww!! Thank you. I wrote it after 10 hours at an amusement park and a two hour drive home. I was exhausted, and I looked through my photos for the day, and that shark told me the poem. ❤️
