14/30
like music i float
trumpet blast, spinning pines
swaying butterfly free
like music i press
rhythm bound, broken sticks
unwinding spooled rage
like music i turn
plucked strings, wide hips
dirty feet step
like music i open
staccato heart, lifting notes
double-time truth
Note: The photo was taken while dancing under the pines at WorldFest and the words were inspired by the sounds of a jazz quartet.
More short poems:
1/30: not my cat
2/30: comfort
3/30: ache
4/30: remember
5/30: graduation
6/30: big love
7/30: Heavy and light
8/30: delicate
9/30: leaping
10/30: Dad gave me…
11/30: solstice
12/30: twisted
13/30: starving

Not just words. I hear You inside this poem. These are like clothes you wear. I see you in the wind, moving, moving now where You want to go. Like butterflies I’ve seen, flying into wind. I don’t know how they do it, but I know they do. I think you are as well. The right way, beautiful.

Thank you for sharing!!.. “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” (Plato)… 🙂
Hope all is well in your part of the universe, life is all that you wish for it to be and until we meet again…
May the love that you give
Always return to you,
That family and friends are many
And always remain true,
May your mind only know peace
No suffering or strife,
May your heart only know love and happiness
On your journey through life.

Not sure if anyone else commented on this, but the lead photo actually changes contrast as I move my cursor on and off of it.
And just for fun, one can take the list of short poem 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘴 and make a sort of modern urban poem from them 🙂
Not my cat
comfort
ache
remember
graduation
big love
Heavy and light
delicate
leaping
Dad gave me…
solstice

I’m aware of the photos. It’s some WP setting from the theme I chose years ago when I launched this blog and I’ve not been able to figure out how to fix it without changing themes (and that terrifies me). I know it’s annoying, especially since I also do photography now. Might have to take a look at it again.
You are right about the titles making a short poem of sorts. I really like that. Thank you!
