18/30
imagine laying on water
arms and legs spread out
a soft-hearted starfish
a pink flowery scout
imagine cloudy skies above
layers of endless white
a water-drop world
a glinting galaxy bright
now imagine it switching
trading one for the other
a watery sky above you
a floating cloud mother
would anything change really
within your breathing chest
you are you always, child
now lay down and rest

Thank you, Tom! I felt inspired after spending the morning floating in the lake soaking up the last of summer.

Wonderful! 🥰 You can lay on the water in the Dead Sea.

I’m pretty good at floating on all water, but floating on the Dead Sea would be an incredible experience I’m sure.

I’ve seen people floating in that salty water, but have never been there. Imagine a sea with no life in it.

You’re nicer than me. I think maybe that’ll always be so, water above or below. Not that it isn’t just fine, rain out of a clear blue sky. I’ve seen that actually. It feels like something special from God. Maybe so. Like your poem here too. Shadows and light that all attract me closer to see. Nice poem too, did I say that? Oh, I did. 🙂

Yes, water above and below seems appealing to me. Beautiful, really. It’s all water. Us. The sky. The lake. Love. All water to drink and sustain us. I’m glad you liked my little poem.

Floating on water, the only thing we see is the sky. So much room to dream.

Thank you for sharing your poetry and wonderful thoughts!!.. like the idea of floating on the calm water and gazing at the blue skies, letting my imagination run free…. 🙂
Hope all is well in your part of the universe and until we meet again…
May the sun shine all day long
Everything go right, nothing go wrong
May those you love bring love back to you
And may all the wishes you wish come true

Well, damn. That last stanza got me. All the power of this poem is right there, pow. Everything about the universe could change, but you’re still you. What an affirming thing to say, what an affirming poem to write. This is something every parent everywhere should take to heart and live by- that last stanza. If your child is still the same child no matter what- if that’s unchanging, then shouldn’t your love be the same? Damn, dude. Warn a guy. lol *huggles*

Absolutely. I can’t imagine loving my kids less for any choices they make. Any. Parental love should be 100% accepting and unwavering. I’m sorry that line came out of nowhere, but I am glad it touched you so much. I’m thinking of reading this one tonight at poetry night because there are several trans young adults who attend and maybe they need to hear it.❤️
