“I know faces, because I look through the fabric my own eye weaves, and behold the reality beneath.”—Kahlil Gibran, Faces
This week my assignment for the 52 photo challenge was to focus on faces. While some of the photos here fit the challenge, especially if you define sunflowers as having faces, most do not. I hope you’ll forgive me this week.
I’m a huge fan of pumpkin patches and have decided my 4-year-old nephew and I will visit a different one every Friday from now until Halloween. Part of these adventures will be to find the most sincere and sweet pumpkin patch in our area.
We started with the opposite of that, the very commercialized Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm. While I know it’s a favorite of many, I find it overwhelming and far too expensive. The train was fun and we loved the corn pit, but it feels like it’s grown too large and is trying to be too many things. Next week we will try a small family farm in Folsom.
Let me know if you have a favorite photo and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Don’t care bout exercises, just love them all. What’s not to love. Wyatt, still such a tiny person, but look inside that slight frame and all those thoughts, all those feelings, waiting to leap. Leap Wyatt, leap! And the animal face I also adore, could near make me believe in reincarnation and who, who is that inside there. Might someone say the same of me? Wonderful work, wonderful of you to share.

I love all of these but 1 and 2 for the challenge. The one pumpkin, the green bumpy one is a bit creepy.

Wonderful photos, Bridgette. Not sure I can pick one favourite as they are all excellent, however, your nephew sitting on top of the pumpkin takes me back to happy carefree days! Of course, Spiderman with pumpkin just me smile 😉😊

Your nephew sitting on that huge orange pumpkin wins for me! Not only does he have the sweetest smile, but this one made me smile remembering when my own kids were so small, sweet, and innocent!😍

Thank you! Yes, it’s so wonderful being an auntie at this stage in my life when my kids are still home but far too big to let me pose them on a pumpkin. I’m glad it made you smile!

Is that your nephew? He’s gorgeous. The winner!
Pics: #10 oh yes! I imagine all those faces following me as I walk the narrow path. Lovely.
#8 gorgeous color and each little wart (like those on my Goya—bitter melons) could be a little face. ALSO, I love the Myrtle confetti that fell on it. I know that’s Myrtle! It made the little faces all the more adorned in the autumn lamplight
#3 well because how could you not love that face. But in truth they’re all winners. 👏🏽

That is my nephew! I’ve babysat him weekly since he was born and we are really close. He’s the best!
I totally thought that bumpy pumpkin had little faces too. I’m so glad you see it. Myrtle confetti! I didn’t know that’s what it was, but I loved the contrast of the bright flower against the green pumpkin.
Thanks for all the kindness!

Last year at this time I was fascinated with how morality plays out during an apocalypse. I wrote a series of stories exploring these ideas and I’m glad you found it scary. I hope it was also enjoyable to read.
