we are moonsoaked
wispy cloud dancers
feather spinning thinkers
twisted vine twirlers
we are rockscraped
floating driftwood darlings
clear cresting lovers
spring time dreamers
we are skybound
soft faced sleepers
delirious light gazers
keepers of everything

I’m so happy you loved it. Yes, the lake was amazing today. I’m teaching my 4-year-old nephew to swim and today he started singing “Fly Me to the Moon” while we swam. My heart nearly burst ❤️

Oh my gosh, that song is such a lovely classic! God bless him. ❤️ I lived on a Michigan lake as a child, so many beautiful memories. 😊

This poem is well served to be read and read again, twice at least. There is motion here not seen by casual glance – it wants attention to remain for a while, become familiar. Family, of a sort. An invitation.
That last stanza and those two lines especially, ending, “keepers of everything”. I could poetically swoon! Lovely work. Yes, more please.

I’m overjoyed you liked it! It was one of those poems that comes all at once, like a cascade of words I catch in my hands before they reach the floor. That doesn’t happen often for me, but I wonder if I keep writing more if that will happen more. Wouldn’t that be lovely! Thank you for always encouraging me.

It will happen more Bridgette. Because, everything will happen more. That math I do know. Write more – because – it pleases me when you do.
