“Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls.”
—John Muir
This week’s assignment for the 52 photo challenge was to take photos of the sunrise/sunset. This aligned perfectly with a very rare week of double travel for me. Not only did I visit Tahoe for a few days, but it was swiftly followed by a quick trip to Dillion Beach. I feel so lucky!
Both trips provided such incredible views to photograph. My selection of images includes both locations at sunrise and sunset. Let me know if you have a favorite and have a wonderful week.

These are lovely, Bridgette. I particularly liked #3 with that branch peeking into the sunrise view. Isn’t it wonderful how every sunrise and sunset is unique?

Definitely the header photo (unnumbered) is my fave. I like the silhouettes, especially #3. The clouds in #8.

What I love about sunrises and sunsets is how different they can be. That header photo is one of my favorite too because I left the houses in my view. It reminds me of where I was and is closer to what it really looked like. Thank you.

My friend George has a place on Bogue Sound, part of the intracoastal waterway passing by NC. He says the same thing you do, and photographs the rising and setting every day he’s there. 90% of my sunset/rise photos are from when I visit.

That’s amazing. If I had a great view from my own yard I’d 100% do that, but houses block most of the sunrise and sunsets in my neighborhood. What a worthy thing to do.

I like #3 with the needles as a frame with that one in the middle.

#10 simple, artistic, effective. Re-reading the story of the girl, it is all the stronger for the faint glimmers of hope being blinked out. No redemption.

I’d love to do both. I’m also working on a middle-grade novel I hope to get traditionally published about Thor’s daughter.

Thank you for sharing wonderful pictures and a part of your world!!.. a tranquil time to reconnect with oneself and contemplate the future… 🙂
Reminds me of the phrase; “red sky in the morning, shepherds warning, red sky at night, shepherds delight”.. 🙂
Hope all is well in your part of the universe and until we meet again….
May flowers always line your path
and sunshine light your way,
May songbirds serenade your
every step along the way,
May a rainbow run beside you
in a sky that’s always blue,
And may happiness fill your heart
each day your whole life through.
May the sun shine all day long
Everything go right, nothing go wrong
May those you love bring love back to you
And may all the wishes you wish come true
(Irish Saying)

I’m so glad you liked those the best. It’s such a blessing to witness the sunrise and the sunset over water. I’m waking early tomorrow to do another shooting at the lake near me. I can’t get enough.
