“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.”—Patrick Rothfuss
This week my assignment for the 52 photo challenge was to think in threes. I had technical challenges and ended up getting sick, but I did manage to get a few images. The first shots are from the Vietnam Memorial in the Sacramento State Capitol Park. The second is from my daughter’s G.I.R.L.S. Rock Sacramento show on Saturday at Harlow’s.
I’ve not been sick in years and I’m feeling quite rundown. I’ll be resting while it’s over 100 degrees again today and hoping this cold passes quickly. Let me know if you have a favorite image and have a great week.

Bonus images (not threes):

- Photos were taken with an Olympus OM-D and edited with ON1 Photo RAW

Thank you, Judith. I did think it was quite remarkable when those doves landed on the statue. Brought a tear to my eye. Peace and war.

Thank you! I’m finally feeling better. I’ve passed that street art hundreds of times as it’s by my daughter’s therapy office, but it occurred to me that it fits perfectly for the challenge this week. Glad you liked it.

As a photography exercise, number one is number one. Three things, but arrived by being two different things – the more creative result to the task. Or, as they say on Sesame Street – two of these things are the same and one is not. Rest, please. You are “the mom” and I admire you for that quality.

Thank you so much, Neil. That might be one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken. As I stood there looking at the memorial first one dove landed and then the second. It was as if they were making a statement about peace beside the names of those killed. It brought me to tears.
