52 Photo Challenge: Week 48-Lens Flare

This week’s assignment for the 52 photo challenge was to capture a lens flare. Still craving water and a beautiful sunrise, I woke early and drove to Folsom Lake. It was chilly and cold but incredibly peaceful. I hiked for a long time to reach the water’s edge, and then I savored the sound of the waves. If I closed my eyes I could pretend I was still at the ocean.

Not all of these photos stay on topic, but I’m okay with breaking the rules a little bit. Well, I’m trying to be. Let me know if you have a favorite and have a fantastic week.

  11. Yep, it’s another calendar’s worth of fine work, but here I’ll focus on one in particular. Number three is one name. Because. Because it’s the one I’d write a poem for to make it smile. Fine art from afar, but when you get close all the leaves come out to play. I could be happily lost in all those fallen leaves on the ground (maybe like dragon memories). Then those green and yellows yet attached to their limbs. All of it suggests, “tree” past, present and future. And tree itself means “life” of a literal sort, taking that far far Sun and making it food for us to eat. That’s just one beginning to conjugate.

    • I played around with lots of settings and found light-metering worked the best for getting the flares. It was a fun challenge, but I’m looking forward to this series to end and to take photos of just what I want to 🙂

    • Yes! It’s hard to choose one each week. I don’t know if others do an entire shoot like me for the assignment, but pairing it down is rough. You are so sweet, Nicole! I appreciate your kindness more than you know.
