52 Photo Challenge: Week 43-Season

“Way out in the country tonight he could smell the pumpkins ripening toward the knife and the triangle eye and the singeing candle.”—Ray Bradbury

October was a blur of busyness and I’m behind in everything—laundry, dishes, yard work, and blogging. Life is like that sometimes.

My month included poetry night. Housesitting. A music festival. Helping my sister-in-law after emergency surgery. Becoming a godmother. Dungeons & Dragons. Five pumpkin patches with my nephew. Halloween traditions. Movies. Haunted houses. Lots of treats.

My photo assignment, which I’m posting four days late, was to capture the fall season. I took these photos at our annual family outing to Rickey Ranch last week. Not my best work, but who doesn’t love cute animals and a beautiful sky.

To everyone starting NaNoWriMo—happy writing! I’m not participating this year but I’ll root you on. Bring on November!

  1. I’ve never done NaNoWriMo, although I have a short story in progress (there’s an idea bouncing around in my head, and I’ve written a few paragraphs, at least) that I’ll work on during this planned hiatus from DLTDGB.

  2. It’s funny becaose I normally associate autumn and winter with colour- you get much better light than you do in the summer (in terms of photography) – but of yours, I really like the windmill. That’s a delicious contrast between the colours.

    • I suppose there is no “best work,” but I was disappointed in the shots I got when downloading them. All the chicken shots were blurry and none of the wide shots of the pumpkin field turned out. Everything was washed out. I tried to fix things by editing them all with the same color scheme but now I’m unsure if that was worse…I suppose what I’m saying is that sometimes I’m hard on myself. I appreciate you always stopping by and for the kind comments. Thank you.
